When Makenna Pittman found out she was pregnant, she knew exactly how she wanted to share the news — with the women who had become her family.
The now-retired NFL cheerleader for the Las Vegas Raiderettes chose to tell her teammates the news during the squad’s final game of the season, transforming a routine team photo into a moment she says she’ll never forget.
As the group gathered in their locker room before taking the field, the photographer and coach had them say “Raiderettes” on three. Then, instead of another cheer, they prompted them to say, “Makenna’s pregnant.”
The reaction was instant. Her teammates began screaming, jumping up and down with their pompoms in the air before swarming Pittman in celebration. At one point, another teammate ran over and handed her a tiny Raiders onesie, and she revealed she was having a boy.
She later posted the heartfelt surprise on TikTok, where the video has since gone viral, amassing more than 600,000 views.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Pittman recalls how she felt in the emotional moment.
“When I saw my teammates’ reaction to my announcement, I felt nothing but pure joy and love in that moment,” the soon-to-be mom tells PEOPLE exclusively. “We always say the Raiderettes is a ‘sisterhood,’ and I truly felt it in that moment.”

For Pittman, the timing made the reveal even more meaningful. The announcement came as she closed the chapter on her professional cheerleading career — making it both a farewell and a new beginning all at once.
“I knew baby boy was already so loved,” she says. “I already couldn’t wait for the day that I get to bring him to his first game.”
“The love and excitement in the room was exhilarating,” Pittman adds. “I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end my professional cheerleading career.”
